OUR Apprentices TAKE OVER HOTEL OPERATIONS

A project built on responsibility, trust, and lots of dedication.

On Saturday, April 5th, 2025, our 20 apprentices took charge of the entire hotel for a day.
From welcoming guests and coordinating the daily operations to organizing a festive evening event – everything was managed by our young talents.

An Evening to Remember

What made the event truly special: The invited guests were the apprentices’ own parents and family members, who experienced the evening as hotel guests themselves.
They got a first-hand look at how much responsibility, care, and creativity
their children bring to everyday hotel operations.

Everything was organized independently – from invitation management, reservations, and scheduling to the welcome aperitif and a multi-course dinner in the Panorama Restaurant. Even spa treatments were planned and carried out by the apprentices.

Michelle Bolze, who took over front desk management for the day, summed it up:
“We’re all just so proud that we got to create an unforgettable evening for our parents and supervisors – and show them what we’re capable of.”

The so-called “Apprentice Day” took place for the fifth time this year and has become a firmly established part of the training program at the hotel.

The goal is to give our apprentices the chance to gain hands-on experience, make their own decisions, and take on real responsibility.

Martina Hettegger, host of the hotel, and Christoph Schimpl, the project’s initiator, emphasize: “When we place our trust in young people, we’re not only fostering technical skills, but also encouraging leadership, creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and independence.”

Insights, Growth, Real Involvement


Over the course of their three-year apprenticeship, our apprentices gain experience in all areas of the hotel – from the kitchen and service to the spa. Apprentice Day is a special opportunity for them to take ownership and experience real responsibility.

To close the evening, each apprentice introduced themselves and shared their personal journey through the training program. Department heads and family members honored their achievements – and the celebration continued in the hotel’s Rauchkuchl.

Our Apprentices’ Conclusion:
“It was an unforgettable experience – and one that should definitely happen again!”
